This Privacy Policy explains what information H5Games on Web (“we”, “us”) handles when you use h5gamesonweb.com (the “Site”), why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
1. The short version
- You do not need an account, and we do not ask you for personal details to play.
- Your game progress is stored on your own device, not on our servers.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It is always on (see below for how to opt out).
- We show ads. Advertising partners may use cookies for personalisation, and where the law requires it, only after you agree. You can change your mind any time in Cookie Settings.
2. Information we handle
Stored on your device
We use your browser’s local storage and a small cookie to remember things like your cookie choices and your progress in a game (for example your chess level). This stays on your device. See our Cookie Policy for the list.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting systems automatically receive technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and the time of the request. We use it to deliver the Site, keep it secure and fix problems.
Analytics information
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to measure how the Site is used. It runs on every visit and is not controlled by the cookie banner. It sets cookies (such as _ga) and receives information such as your device and browser type, approximate location, and the pages and games you use. Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. We use this only to understand and improve the Site. Learn more at how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Advertising information
Ads on the Site may be provided by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. These partners may collect or receive information such as your IP address, device identifiers and cookie identifiers, and information about your visit, to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. Fonts
The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and basic request details.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
3. Why we use information
- to provide, secure and improve the Site and the games, including by measuring usage;
- to remember your settings and progress;
- to show advertising that helps pay for the Site, and to measure how it performs;
- to answer your messages and requests;
- to meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on: your consent for advertising cookies and similar technologies; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Site, including measuring its use; and, where relevant, legal obligation. 5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with service providers that help us run the Site (such as hosting) and with advertising partners as described above, and when required by law. Some of these providers may be located outside your country, and information may be transferred internationally with appropriate safeguards where required.
6. How long we keep information
Data on your device stays until you clear it or it expires (see the Cookie Policy). Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your request.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, use our Cookie Settings, and manage personalised ads through Google’s Ads Settings. 8. Children
The Site is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the Site, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
